About Me
I’ve always been drawn to counselling. Relationships and exploring meaning are central to who I am, and I feel like counselling is a natural extension of what I value most.
I have over 12 years of experience working alongside adults, parents, children, teens, and families across different settings. A large part of my earlier work was as a Child and Family worker with community mental health agencies across Hamilton and Brantford.
A unique perspective I offer comes from my work in outreach, where supporting children and families in their homes, at school, or out in the community allowed me to better understand what happens outside the therapy space. I could see what was truly helpful in the moment: how to pause and calm down; how to move through an emotion; how to come back together after something hard.
I’ve also found my experience with families opened my eyes to how our lifelong patterns can develop, and the transformative power of learning how to feel safe and connected within our selves and our relationships.
I have a warm and compassionate style that respects who you are and how you want to experience therapy. I’m easy to talk to, love a good metaphor, and strive to create a space where we can slow things down and move from awareness to action. Above all, I take the time to get to know you.
A Little Bit More
I like simple things, like coffee, reading, and being outside. It’s a great day if I’ve managed all three. I like to write and do things with my hands, and I often have several projects (in various stages of completion) on the go. I know the joy and the pull of being a partner and a parent while trying to be my own person too. I love spending time with my family, and quiet walks alone with my dog.
